The mission
of the San Carlos Ladies Altar Society is to provide means to ornament
the House of God and the articles necessary for divine worship. They meet on the
second Thursday of each month at 1 pm except during the summer months

The Finance
Council advises the Pastor in fulfilling his responsibilities to
administer the finances of the parish. It monitors and recommends to

FLOWER MINISTRY
This ministry uses plants and flowers to create a
sense of peace and welcome for people prior to entering the church for
worship.

LOAVES AND FISHES OUTREACH
The mission
of Loaves and Fishes is to feed the homeless and those in need in our
community by honoring the Gospel of Matthew, "For I was hungry and
you gave me food." A hot meal and sack lunch are prepared and
distributed on Friday mornings at 10 am. A hot meal is also prepared
and distributed on Sunday at noon. We are currently receiving donated
food from Nob Hill, Safeway and Whole Foods. Donated clothing is also
provided.

San Carlos follows the guidelines of "Music in Catholic
Worship" and "Liturgical Music Today," publications of

RITE OF CHRISTIAN
INITIATION FOR ADULTS (R.C.I.A)
The
R.C.I.A. process is intended for adults and children of catechetical
age who desire to join the Catholic Church. Following the liturgical
year, this process consists of ongoing catechesis and study, prayer
and discernment as well as an opportunity to get to know the parish
community to which they will belong. This gradual approach to full
initiation is based on the fact that conversion is a gradual process
as well as a lifelong journey. The R.C.I.A. group meets every Sunday
morning at 9:00 am for Dismissal Rites and ongoing catechesis.

SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES
A Small Christian
Community is a group of 6 - 10 adults who gather in homes to discuss
their lives in light of the Gospel and share their faith through
prayer, friendship and service. These small faith communities share
their stories and explore how the scriptures are calling them today!
In general, gatherings last about 90 minutes, ending with prayer and
refreshments.

STEWARDSHIP/EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE
Under the guidance of the
pastor, the Stewardship Committee fosters parish awareness of our need
to give thanks for all of God’s gifts through the generous
offering of time, talent, and treasure. The function of the committee
is to educate and encourage the parishioners to understand the meaning
and definition of stewardship through a ministry fair, witness talks,
bulletin updates, and announcements from the altar.

TAKE A SECOND LOOK: A MINISTRY FOR RETURNING CATHOLICS
This new ministry is an invitation for non-practicing Catholics
to 'take a second look' at the Catholic Church. The 8 week program,
offered 2 - 3 times a year, is held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 -
8:30 PM and provides opportunities for prayer, story telling,
updating one's knowledge of the Catholic Faith and community
building.
