ADULT BIBLE STUDY
SEEK - A Scripture Class, Inc. presents an ongoing interdenominational study program that meets every Monday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in Saint Joseph's Center.

ADULT CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
This sacramental ministry prepares adults who desire to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. Regular classes and a day retreat are an essential preparation for the reception of this sacrament..

ALTAR SERVERS
This ministry helps to prepare both children and adults who have received their first holy communion to serve as acolytes for the celebration of Mass. Training is provided.

ALTAR SOCIETY
The mission of the Ladies Altar Society is to care for the House of God and the articles necessary for divine worship. This group meets in Cathedral Hall every second Thursday of the month, except for the summer months.

CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAS
This ministry is a group of Catholic women who support the Church, give generously to various charities and embrace the principles of faith to work together in the promotion of justice, equality and the advancement of human rights and dignity for all people. They meet on the second Monday of the month in Cathedral Hall.

CHRISTIANS IN COMMERCE
The mission of this ministry is to bring Christ to the marketplace. Challenge Weekends are offered four times a year to its members. Meetings are held every Thursday at noon in the Conservation Office.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
This ministry helps to prepare all those who serve the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ to the worshipping assembly at the celebration of the Masses. Training is provided.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE HOMEBOUND AND HOSPITALIZED
This ministry brings the Eucharist, the Word of God and the love of Christ to parishioners who are sick, homebound or hospitalized. Training is provided.

FESTA ITALIA
Festa Italia is a charitable organization that promotes Italian heritage by honoring Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of fishermen, with a procession and festival, including a special Mass once a year.

FINANCE COUNCIL
The Finance Council advises the Pastor in fulfilling his responsibilities to administer the finances of the parish. It monitors and recommends the parish budget for operations and capital expenditures and provides parishioners with an annual report on the financial position of the parish.

HOSPITALITY/USHERS
This ministry serves at the weekend Masses by greeting worshippers as they arrive, overseeing the Presentation of the Gifts and directing the community during the Eucharist. Ushers also provide for the safety and wellbeing of those attending, as well as the coordination of emergency personnel if needed.

LEGION OF MARY
Legion of Mary
is a lay apostolate combining Marian spirituality with active evangelization to the community by visiting the sick and homebound. Meetings are every Wednesday at 3 pm at St. Joseph’s Center.

LITTLE FLOWERS GIRLS CLUB
Do you have a daughter 5 years or older? This program is designed to teach Catholic virtues by using the example of the lives of saints, Sacred Scripture and the Catechism. Its purpose is to make our Catholic faith come alive and inspire girls to become Catholic women.

LITURGICAL MOVEMENT
This ministry enhances the liturgical services with movement and praise, especially at the Masses for the Jazz and Dixieland weekends, as well as the Christmas Vigil and the Easter Tridium celebrations. Training is provided.

LITURGY PLANNING COMMITTEE
Composed of chairpersons of the various liturgical ministries, this ministry plans and coordinates the celebration of all seasons and feast days in the liturgical year.

LOAVES AND FISHES
The mission of this ministry is to feed the homeless and care for those in need in our community. A hot meal is prepared and served to the homeless every Sunday at noon, and a sack lunch is served every Friday morning. Bags of food are also prepared for distribution at the Parish Office. Any donation of food or money is always appreciated to help those who come to our Parish Office in need.

MINISTRY OF CONSOLATION
This ministry has its purpose to ba a comforting presence to any parishioner upon the death of a loved one. This is primarily done by offering a Grief Support Group twice a year and through a outreach ministry of volunteers who send cards and call family members after the funeral for the first year.

MINISTRY OF THE WORD
This ministry prepares lectors to proclaim the Word of God at all liturgies in a manner that is clear, understandable and inspirational to the worshipping assembly. Training is provided.

MOMS: MINISTRY OF MOTHERS SHARING
This ministry is specifically designed for mothers with young children ages 0-6 years old who gather together for prayer, support, networking, and learning opportunities. This faith sharing group is a way for mothers throughout our parish community to share the Gospel message with one another and their families.

MUSIC MINISTRY
This ministry implements the liturgical/musical directive of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (full and conscious participation by parishioners in parish worship). Under the guidance of the Pastor, directors of our Cantors, Choirs and instrumentalists choose music and hymns that emphasize the scriptural themes indicated by the lectionary. Training is provided for those who desire to sing, cantor or play an instrument.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE SOCIETY
The mission of this ministry is to celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12) with authentic Mexican traditions. To facilitate this yearly event, fund raising events are held in preparation for the feast day.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (R.C.I.A)
This is a total parish faith formation process involving the priests and deacons, the worshipping assembly, catechists, liturgists, parish sponsors, and those who offer hospitality. Its purpose is to prepare any adult, teenager and child of catechetical ages 6-14 who desire to become a Catholic Christian, and/or to complete their Christian Initiation into the Catholic Church. A year-round inquiry group is offered for adults in preparation for the Catechumenate.

SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES
This ministry offers adults the opportunity to gather together in groups of 6-10 in homes to discuss their lives in light of the Gospel and to share their faith through prayer, friendship and Christian service. These group meetings, which last 60-90 minutes, share stories and explore how the scriptures are calling to serve today, and the meetings end with prayer and refreshments. Materials are available to assist group facilitators. Groups meet mainly during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

STEWARDSHIP/EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE
The ministry of this committee is to welcome, educate and encourage parishioners to become full and active stewards of our parish by using their time, talent and treasure as a means of evangelization for others. One of their responsibilities is to sponsor the annual Ministry Fair inviting parishioners to use their gifts in Christian service in one of the various ministries in the parish community.

TAKE A SECOND LOOK: A MINISTRY FOR RETURNING CATHOLICS
This ministry has its mission to invite and welcome any Catholic who desires to return to the Church. With the help of a Core Team of parishioners, a special program is offered from January to March for six consecutive weeks that is primarily designed to facilitate the journey back into the Church.

YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY
This ministry is designed for adults in their 20's and 30's who want to gather together for prayer, social opportunities and service projects. This group meets twice a month for events, such as Theology on Tap, prayer nights and an occasional social outing.

YOUTH MINISTRY FOR MIDDLE GRADERS, HIGH SCHOOL AND TEEN CONFIRMATION
This ministry is committed to bringing awareness, invitation and empowerment to youth in the middle grades and in their high school years to live their lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. Here is the schedule for each of the groups:

  • The High School Youth Group meets on alternating Sundays with Confirmation sessions.

  • The Middle School meets two Wednesdays of each month.

  • Confirmation 1 Discernment meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month

  • Confirmation 2 Discernment meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
